Alessandra Silver

Alessandra’s background is in educational sciences (MA at the University of Bologna, Italy) and in digital technologies for communication and education (MA at the University of Manchester, UK).
She has spent 12 years living and working all around sub-Saharan Africa as film maker, creative director, photographer and communication specialist.

In 2007 she co-funded the International Organization “Cultural Video Foundation” (CVF) envisioning multimedia as a tool to inform, educate, connect and empower disadvantage people around the globe. She has been collaborating with UN Agencies, private TV stations, NGOs, Governmental Agencies and private companies while consulting for agencies like FAO, WORLD BANK, GIZ and EU.

In 2015 with other 2 colleagues she rescued from a scrap metal dealer a double-decker 60' UK bus and transformed it into "The Bus": a collective urban art project still bouncing in the underground scene of Nairobi.  

She is specialized in multimedia participatory approaches to social and behavioral change communication and together with her team she has won several awards in film festivals around the world.

Now she lives in Auroville, (India) since 2018 where she has been working for Outreach Media Service. Currently she is working on a research on Integral Education in The Learning Community (TLC) and for AV Arts Service.
