Our Community - Christina
Christina walked into a yoga class one morning with an earnestness that’s rare. After class she shared frankly about her finances being a constraint and, as is the intention at the centre to welcome all sincere seekers, this was not an issue. She came regularly and quickly became an integral and joyous part of our yoga community at A Sunlit Path.
In time, she approached us with the idea of offering yoga for children in gratitude for the yoga classes she had been receiving. Thank you Christina for this treasured moment. It gives hope to a long-held dream of an organic blossoming of community from each of us blossoming from the heart space.
A Sunlit Path’s The Inside Out Program—a mix of yoga, mindfulness, emotional awareness and theatre for kids—had been on pause for many months due to lack of resources, so we were happy to restart. Christina brought endless energy, play and wisdom through song to the little ones. At the end of every class (except once when half of the kids were asleep) everyone from the little ones to the parents—and even Christina herself even after hours of time with a bunch of 6-10 year olds—were full of smiles. The parents stayed on outside chatting, the kids continued playing or drawing and I observed the life she had managed to breathe into the space.
Christina showed up to the last class with small handmade certificates for each child complete with shiny little stars—a surprise for everyone, including me. Thank you Christina for the many gifts you brought to our space with your pure presence and heart. We send you love and look forward to having you back here soon.
