Pappammal and Muthugounder Trust

Pappammal and Muthugounder Trust (named after Sudha’s maternal grandparents) was established and registered in India on Feb 4, 2010 under the Societies Registration Act, 186, with the registration number No.2(1083)09-10 and PAN no: AABTP8999E.

We are a charitable trust registered under both 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961, with registration numbers AABTP8999EE20100 and AABTP8999EF20215, respectively, valid until AY 2026-2027.

Donators can claim a 50% tax deduction on their income tax return for all donations made to our trust, subject to current tax laws.

Aims & Objectives

-To keep alive the rich traditions in crafts, arts, medicine, and literature and encourage a positive growth of society that grows from the past by bringing in experts that possess first-hand knowledge of many traditional crafts, medicine, etc and organizing lectures, seminars, and workshops for the young and the old alike.

-To encourage real education for those from all walks of life, irrespective of caste, creed, sex or religion. This includes education in philosophy, culture and art, in addition to the usual subjects, as well as encouraging the students to think and be leaders in their society. (Education for children would also include teaching them to distinguish between right and wrong, tolerance and intolerance, and charity and hatred. Adult education would include language, crafts, nutrition, health issues such as, alcoholism, smoking and social issues.)

-To bring awareness to and encourage healing through traditional means, i.e. Siddha medicine, by establishing alternative health centers.

-To encourage and organize healthy, non-commercial extra-curricular activities for those from all walks of life in areas such as music, dance, academics, crafts, sports, and discussions.
